Passwords and character encoding for IMAP accounts

Nylas currently cannot authenticate an account through IMAP if the account password contains characters that are not in the ASCII character encoding. If you encounter an error during authentication, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Check if the account's password contains characters outside the ASCII range. If it does, advise the end user to update their account's password.
