⛔️ As of October 1, 2022, Microsoft has deprecated Basic authentication support for all Exchange Online accounts. For more information, see Nylas' Microsoft Exchange Online Basic authentication changes guide.

The documentation in this section walks through common authentication issues with Microsoft Azure, and the steps you can take to troubleshoot them.

Invite Nylas to Azure app

If you need help troubleshooting your Microsoft OAuth settings, you can give the Nylas Support team permissions to access your Azure auth app. This lets the team review the settings in your app and give feedback on what might be causing authentication issues, and next steps.

First, invite Nylas Support to your Azure app:

  1. Log in to the Microsoft Azure Portal.
  2. Search for Microsoft Entra ID and navigate to the resulting page.
  3. Select Users in the left navigation.
  4. Click New user, then Invite external user.
  5. Add support@nylas.com and click Invite.
    Add a guest user

Next, give Nylas Support administrator permissions in your app:

  1. From the Azure Portal home page, search for Microsoft Entra ID and navigate to the resulting page.
  2. Click Roles and administrators > Application administrators.
The Microsoft Azure Portal showing the "Roles and administrators" page for an Azure application. A list of configured roles is shown.
  3. Click Add assignments.
  4. Search for support@nylas.com and click Add.
The Microsoft Azure Portal showing the "Add assignments" pop-up. A list of search results is displayed.

The Nylas Support can then help troubleshoot your OAuth settings.
